MC Jakarta: Choosing a Product Launch Host

An empty ballroom stage and lectern, with no people in frame

An MC Jakarta brands book for a product launch is there to make the reveal land in the right order. The film, the product and the spokesperson have to arrive when the script says, and someone has to hold the room if they do not. Choosing that host starts with the running order and the audience, not with a showreel. Fees are on request and depend on the hours, the languages, the rehearsal and whether the host also faces a livestream.

Jakarta launches usually sit in a hotel ballroom, a showroom or a hall. Look at MCs and hosts and the Jakarta directory, then send the run of show through the request. The closest role is conference and corporate MC, Jakarta. It is a role profile. We match vetted candidates. We do not publish their names or contact details.

What an MC Jakarta launch host brings

The host carries the frame. They open, they hand to the film or the spokesperson, they bring the room back, and they close. They do not decide the product claim, and they do not invent a price or a date that is not in the script. If a line must be exact, it is written. If a line must never be said, that is written too.

A launch is different from a town hall and from a gala. The town hall needs the next fact. The gala needs ceremony and courses. The launch needs control of a sequence that may include a reveal nobody in the room has seen. The host should know what is allowed to be visible before that moment, including on a confidence monitor.

What to leave off the microphone

Competitor names, an unreleased price, and a joke about a fault in the demo. Agree the subjects that are off limits before the rehearsal, not after a clip has already been said once.

Rehearsal and cue timing

A launch without a rehearsal is a guess. Read the open, the reveal and the close on the microphone you will actually use. Check the cue to the person playing the film and the cue to the person who brings the product on. In a hotel ballroom the host cannot rely on catching a producer’s eye across the room. Agree a word or a hand signal.

Time the sequence, including the walk-on. A thirty-second film is not thirty seconds once the room has to be quieted and the next speaker has to reach the mark. Build a gap you can spend if the film stalls. Tell the host which line holds the room and which line is dropped if you are late. Without that permission the host can only stall.

Invite the host to the rehearsal you actually intend to run, not to a separate creative meeting the day before that. If the product, the film or the spokesperson is missing at rehearsal, say what will stand in. The host can time a gap. They cannot time a reveal they have never been shown. Put that hour in the confirmed call, in the same building if you can.

Media and livestream segments

If cameras are in the room, the host is on the record for those minutes. Mark which segments are for the room only and which are for a livestream or a media note. A remark that is fine for guests can be the wrong line once it is clipped. Give the host the approved description of the product in the language they will speak.

A livestream also needs a director. The host should know whether they are talking to the room, to the camera, or to both, and when they must hit a mark. We match the host. We do not supply the stream. If a moderator is needed for a live question segment, say so. That can be the same person only when the reveal and the questions are not stacked into the same minute. Webinar and hybrid moderator is the role when the online audience is a real second room.

Language choice for the audience

Choose the language from the people who must understand the instruction and the claim. A Jakarta launch is often Bahasa Indonesia, with English for a regional guest or a head office. Say which lines are repeated. Do not switch at random. A greeting in English and a demo in Bahasa is a clear plan. Asking the host to interpret a technical briefing is not.

If journalists or partners need the other language for the whole segment, book interpretation separately. The host repeats the frame. The interpreter renders the spokesperson. Tell us the split when you look at hosts in Jakarta. A bilingual host is a reasonable match for short lines in both languages. It is not a booth.

Briefing the host

  • Run of show with durations, including the reveal and the film.
  • Verbatim lines, and lines the host may shorten.
  • What must not be said, including prices or dates not yet public.
  • Languages, and which sentences are repeated.
  • Cues for film, product, speakers and any livestream.
  • Dress, call time, and who may change the order.

Walk it once, then leave the script alone except for names that are still unconfirmed. Send that pack with the request. The agency will say whether one MC Jakarta host can cover the rehearsal and the show. The fee is on request. It changes if you add a language, a second session or a script the host is asked to write. Profiles do not list rates or a direct contact.

FAQ

Is a launch host the same as an exhibition host?

Not always. A launch host protects one sequence and a reveal. An exhibition host restarts short demos all day. Say which room you have.

Does the host need to attend rehearsal?

Yes if there is a film, a walk-on or a livestream. Put the rehearsal in the hours. We confirm it in the proposal.

Can the host also answer media questions?

Only if that was the brief, and only from approved lines. A spokesperson should own claims. The host owns the order.

Are fees listed for a Jakarta MC?

No. Fees are on request and depend on the date, the hours, the languages and the rehearsal.
