Speakers & MCs for Jakarta Convention Center Events

An empty ballroom at dusk with one microphone and no audience

Planning a conference at Jakarta Convention Center? Here is how to plan the hosting, speakers and interpretation. Speakers Indonesia is not tied to the venue. Nothing here is a claim about a past show in the building. You agree the space, the labour and the equipment with the venue and your AV supplier. You ask us for the MC, the speakers, the moderators and the interpreters.

Treat central Jakarta traffic as part of the script. Speakers, a moderator and even the MC can lose the opening if the call time ignores the drive. Build a buffer before the first cue, and a hosted holding pattern if one person is late. Do not schedule two people who must both arrive from opposite sides of the city into the same five-minute handoff. Tell us the hall call time.

Multi-room programmes need a map. The main room gets the MC and the keynote. Side rooms get moderators who can start without waiting for the plenary host. If sessions overlap, write that down. Parallel stages are two jobs. A run of show that only lists the plenary will strand the breakouts.

Rehearsal is where names, slides and cue lights meet. Ask for it before doors. The MC, the show caller if you have one, and the interpreters should hear the same order. Send glossary terms for anything the audience will hear in two languages. Fees are on request. A one-hour welcome is not the same brief as a two-day congress.

Plan the people on stage

MC

Jakarta plenaries are often Bahasa Indonesia, English, or both. Say which language carries the instructions. A bilingual MC moves between them. They introduce. They do not replace a booth team.

Speakers

Give the theme, the audience and the length. We shortlist speaker roles to that brief and confirm who can make the date. Profiles on this site stay as roles, not personal pages.

Moderator

Panels need preparation: questions, order and a hard stop. Match a moderator when the session is a discussion, not a string of introductions.

Interpreters

Simultaneous interpretation needs a pair and a place for them to work. Ask the venue's AV team whether a booth and receivers are included in your hire, or whether your AV supplier must bring them. We match the interpreters to the subject and the language pair. Consecutive fits a smaller meeting where pauses are acceptable.

Planning checklist

  • Put a traffic buffer before the first speaker and the MC call time.
  • Assign a lead to every room that is live at the same time.
  • Split the language plan: host languages versus interpreted speeches.
  • Ask the venue AV team about booths, receivers and cueing.
  • Schedule rehearsal and send slides plus a name list.
  • Request the roles together so the proposal matches the day.

Roles for Jakarta events

These are roles based in Jakarta, not a crew assigned to the building. Fee: On request.

Questions

Are you a supplier of the venue?

No. Venue services stay with the venue. We supply the matched people for the programme.

How early should speakers leave for the hall?

Early enough that traffic does not eat the cue. We need the call time, not a hope that the city will be clear.

Do you publish a fee?

No. Fees are on request and depend on the brief.
